Although the NUOL has been established for over two decades, it has already developed a great number of collaborative activities in the field of international cooperation and partnership. It is thus now in relation with a number of higher learning institutions worldwide. The NUOL has signed 155 MOUs and agreements on academic cooperation and partnership with universities, institutions, academic associations, networks, organizations and INGOs from 29 countries in the world. The MOU based agreements signed cover more core areas of academic and non-academic collaboration and cooperation.
Currently, the NUOL is a member of several regional and international networks, agencies and organizations and such as the ASEAN University Network ( AUN ), the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), the Greater Mekong Sub-region for Academic and Research Network (GMSARN), the ASEAN Universities Network's Southeast Asia Engineering Education Development Network (AUN-SEED-Net), the Greater Mekong Sub Region Tertiary Education Consortium Trust (GMSTEC), the University Network for Wetland Research and Training in the Mekong Region (WUN), ASEAN Academic Alliance (AAA), ASEAN University Games (AUG) and the ASEAN Teacher Education Network (AsTEN)
In coming years, the NUOL is to continue its strong efforts in building trust, relationships committed to academic cooperation and concrete actions contributing to reciprocal social and economic development. As the member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN), the NUOL has actively engaged in a number of activities aiming at both academic and research development and cooperation among the AUN member universities first as well as the countries in the ASEAN region and world in 21st century.
